Q. How many people can your boat take?

A. Our boat, Tunnag can take 9 passengers and 1 crew member. However due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently operating with a 6 passenger limit to ensure the skipper can maintain a 2m from passengers.


Q. Do you travel in bad weather?

A. The most important thing to us is your safety when aboard our boat, Tunnag so will only travel if it is safe to do so. Tunnag handles rougher seas extremely well but if the weather is bad then the trip may not be as enjoyable or comfortable. If we do have to cancel due to bad weather then we will try to do so with as much notice as possible and a full refund will be issued. Q. what is your refund policy?

A. If you cancel over 7 days before your booked trip, payment will be refunded in full, however if it is within 7 days then no refund will be given. For private charters, if your booking is cancelled more than 14 days before the trip then a refund is given, less a cancellation fee of 10% of the total booking fee. If cancelled within the 14 days of your trip then no refund will be given. For more information on our cancellation policy then check out our terms and conditions


Q. Are there seats for everyone?

A. Yes there will be a seat for everyone on the boat - we have 6 jockey seats and a bench seat for 4 people.


Q. What kind of boat do you have?

A. Our boat, Tunnag is a Redbay Stormforce 8.4m canopy edition, she is a strong and stable vessel making here great for passenger trips and expeditions. For more information about Tunnag click here.


Q. Will everyone be fitted with a life jacket?

A. Everyone onboard is provided with an automatic inflating lifejacket. We also have a selection of life jackets for children.


Q. Do you take children?

A. Absolutely, we can take children of any age aboard Tunnag.


Q. Do you take dogs?

A. Unfortunately, we do not take dogs.


Q. Do you accept hen and stag dos?

A. Yes, our boat is perfect for groups of friends or family whatever the occasion. We can arrange lots of amazing packages to ensure you have the perfect stag or hen adventure - whether you want to have a day of pampering at Portavadie, quad biking in Dunoon or even a wilderness experience with our partner Primal Adventures.


Q. Can I bring on my bike/ golf clubs?

A. Yes of course, we can take up to 3 bikes and 4 sets of golf clubs onboard for free.


Q. How do I book a private charter?

Q. Can you arrange a picnic?

A. Definitely! We are passionate about partnering with local suppliers and recommend Scottish Wild Picnics. A family picnic on an island to mark a special birthday. Or, perhaps a romantic marriage proposal on a private beach - we can arrange everything if you let us know your requirements.


Q. Do you offer a water taxi service to the local islands?

A. Yes we do. Whether you’ve missed the last ferry, want a late night out on the mainland, or want to travel in style to one of the many island music festivals then we can get you there. Check out the water taxi rates here, or get in touch to discuss here.


Q. Is there a toilet onboard?

A. Our boat, Tunnag is not fitted with a toilet, but there are great facilities at our base, Largs Yacht Haven.


Q. will i get sea sick?

A. Our boat, Tunnag is very stable and has great visibility meaning very few passengers ever feel ill onboard.


Q. what should i wear?

A. Our boat, Tunnag has a canopy so you are well sheltered from the Scottish weather but as you are venturing out to sea we advise you dress in warm clothing and bring waterproofs.


Q. what should i bring?

A. As mentioned above, bring warm clothes, a waterproof jacket, a warm hat, sun cream and sunglasses. Make sure you also have a camera phone or your camera with you to capture lots of pictures of the stunning scenery and wildlife.


Q. Where do we join the boat, and when?

A. Our meeting point is at Largs Yacht Haven, just outside Largs, North Ayrshire. Please wait for a member of the Sea Clyde team outside the main yacht haven reception, next to Scott’s restaurant. To use google maps to navigate to the yacht haven click here
